The hospital works shoulder to shoulder in teaching, research and clinical work with outstanding achievements in teaching. In 2009 and 2016, the four-year program of ophthalmology and optometry with bachelor degree of science and the five-year program of ophthalmology and optometry with bachelor degree of medicine began to recruit students respectively, cultivating a total of 354 undergraduates, 48 postgraduates, and 17 doctors and post-doctorates.
Shan Kun took the first place of "postgraduate academic stars" in master group of Nanjing Medical University in 2016, and Liu Chang also took the first place of that in 2017. Shan Kun published six SCI papers in international journal, and the total impact factor was 48.477. Liu Chang published four SCI papers, and the total impact factor was 35.454. Liu also obtained the first prize of Academic Scholarship in Nanjing Medical University and National Scholarship.
